Kevin Hovey. I birthed quietly from my mother's vagina in 1984 (the year Gorge Orwell was mostly wrong about). Grew up in the village of Sparta, Michigan and spent a lot of time on my grandma and grandpa's retired farm where, over the course of years, I built an empire of scrap-wood forts that was admired my many cousins.
A frustrated first-grade teacher talked to my parents about Ritalin in 1991. Home schooled throughout middle school and was fairly happy. Went to Sparta High School after 8th grade and was simply not as happy. Started lingering in coffeehouses at fifteen in search of stimulation and some sort of cultural development after being raised in a hive of WASPS. Never bothered with a college education. Much has happened between high school and now.
I enjoy camping and the natural, unblemished faces of nature. I aspire to live in harmony with the natural world which fills me in a way that technology and the contemporary modes of human progress do not.
I am not a fan of money, and have become too existential to commit to the American routine where I think people define themselves almost exclusively by their work, religion, and relationship status. I don't like post WWII industrialized food, and I dislike TV. I enjoy the company of some honest folks, environmentalists, and artists.
I often chuckle at things that others do not. Sometimes, I walk railroad tracks for hours alone in introspection. Sometimes, I make poetry.
